The awards honour lifetime achievements made by individuals towards their commitment to individual breeds.  They include people from bovine, equine and ovine.

The gala dinner comprised of Certified Irish Angus beef which was excellent and enjoyed by all 350 delegates.  The evening overall demonstrated the huge level of ability and knowledge that is contained within the Irish livestock breeding fraternity which augurs well for the future of all breeds.

A huge thank you to Tesco Ireland, the main sponsor.  It was widely recognised by the delegates the huge contribution Tesco Ireland is making to small commercial farms in their support and promotion of Certified Irish Angus beef.  The premium on this beef is proving to be immensely valuable to the farmers involved.

Justin McCarthy, Livestock Editor of the Farmers Journal, presented the awards and a special word of thanks to Justin for his help and support.
